HUMILITY BEFORE THE ALMIGHTY KING

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands”. Revelation 7:9

Can we take a second and re-read that? Just sit in wonder and awe that this is a promise from our God! Wow! People through generations and from all over the world will be in perfect unity together, worshiping and enjoying the fellowship of Jesus! As I reflect on my 10 days in Central Asia, that was not the picture my team saw currently in this region (Read Tyler Collins post for more details of the trip). Yet this is our hope for these people. We saw a people who were blinded and missing the only thing that can give true breath. A culture of false gods, false hope in work, and a belief that their “good deeds” will save them. 80 million people still need to be touched in this region with Jesus. Oh how great the need is…

Our small prayer city had only 1,500 people while being in the middle of nowhere. You may ask this cant be the most affective way to reach the nations, that is such a small dent. And that is only if those people are open to Jesus. I’m not trying to be depressing but at some point, this is a reality. What truly can a human do for such a huge mission… Pray. Yes, just simply pray. Pray that God would move in his power, knowledge, and authority. Pray that God would use this city to be the light on top of the hill to other cities. Pray that God would soften those people’s hearts and be touched by the gospel. Pray that God would reveal himself in dreams. Pray that God would send missionaries to these people. Pray that the spirit would reveal the knowledge of Christ. Pray God would reveal his power through healing. Pray for a culture that is full of spiritual darkness to be vanished. Pray for an awakening and revival not only in this region but all nations.

We spent 3 days praying all throughout the city that God would be willing to move. Prayer was our goal and mission. Everything in me wanted to walk up to everyone in my power and just share the good news, yet God called us to humility, to trust him by praying, to trust his plan. And in that plan, God used us to give bibles, create relationships, and pray over 4 specific local individuals/families in the city. Long term missionaries went back into the city the week after we left. And we got word the people in this city were open and listening to the good news! They were willing to receive prayer again! Are you kidding me! Wow God answered our prayers and is moving! God has bigger plans than our human minds could ever imagine! In result, we pray God would radically transform the souls of these people and produce fruit! Our confidence for revival is in the Lord! So, we pray. We humble ourselves before him and simply ask for him to move and to give us direction. May the people at the Well Austin Church be encouraged with what the Lord is actively doing through the church locally and around the world!

May we be a people who have our minds on the things above! May we be a people who are defined by a love for Jesus, which would lead us to love others, bringing us to pray for revival locally and throughout the nations. God wants to use us, are we willing to be used?! Let’s start with prayer!

THE WELL MISSIONS

We believe Jesus was serious when He said to take the gospel to the ends of the earth, so we desire to do just that. We do not only want to briefly help people by doing short-term mission trips, but also build sustaining relationships and be a consistent help by sending long-term missionaries, businesses, and anything else that will help carry the gospel overseas.
