WORTHINESS OF CHRIST

We serve a God of the Nations that is all-powerful, compassionate, and alive. During our time in Jordan, we were immersed in a predominately Muslim culture that has been deceived by a religion that claims Jesus is only a prophet and that works will save you. Witnessing spiritual blindness and the power of the gospel and His spirit to reveal truth to the lost was life-changing along with watching the local church embody Christ in His compassion and love for others through building His Kingdom. God revealed himself to me and our team in more powerful ways than we ever could have imagined. Ephesians 3:20 embodied our time there.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” Ephesians 3:20


The Lord gently reminded us that Christ is the best thing we can offer someone. We got to build relationships in house visits with Syrian refugee’s and Jordanian people who were either Muslims who had never heard the gospel before or people who have given their lives to Christ.


God is moving in powerful ways to bring Muslim’s to know Christ in Jordan. There are many surrendering their lives to Jesus after hearing the gospel and truth for the first time. God is opening the eyes of spiritually blind people and they could see that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.


In Jordan, only 98% of the population are Muslim and with that, for many, becoming a Christian comes at a cost. Becoming a Christian would bring shame to their family and therefore, they are disowned or persecuted. One afternoon, we went to a home group Bible study and met a woman who had given her life to Jesus last year. She is a mother of two daughters and a wife to a devout Muslim man. 6 months after she came to Christ, both of her daughters did as well, Praise God!


They are all being persecuted for their faith through abuse by her husband, their father. They feel unsafe and fearful of him but as we read through Matthew 10:26-33, we rested in Jesus’ words to not fear man or those who can kill the body but not the soul and meditated on how God’s perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). We came to bless and encourage her, yet she truly blessed in immeasurable ways of her love and trust in Jesus.


After many tears and time getting to know one another, the Spirit moved in power through her words as she reminded us that “Jesus is worth everything.”


Please pray for her husband to come to know Christ and surrender his life to Jesus. Pray for safety and peace over their household. Pray for endurance, perseverance and trust for this sister in Christ and her daughters.

We do not only want to briefly help people by doing short-term mission trips, but also build sustaining relationships and be a consistent help by sending long-term missionaries, businesses, and anything else that will help carry the gospel overseas.
